Stone hit by flooding
Stone was hit by flooding today as much of the Midlands was hit by a month’s worth of rain in just 24 hours.
The Star was flooded and the culvert opposite the pub was looking very swollen early this afternoon. Trentside Clinic was cut off by the flood water and Stafford Road was looking increasingly unpassable as the afternoon wore on.
St Michael’s First School started to send pupils home from 11am as water started to gush into the car park from a flooded Weaver’s Lane and Lichfield Road.
Meanwhile, the road up to Yarnfield was unpassable from mid-morning.
There’ll be more updates and pictures on A Little Bit of Stone soon. Send your reports and photographs to email@example.com Thanks to Martin Robinson for the pictures in this post.
