Glasto’s back… sort of!
This year may be a Glastonbury-free one but the Royal Exchange is putting on its very own tribute over the bank holiday weekend – Exchangetonbury!
From Friday 24th to Sunday 26th August there will be plenty of live music at the Radford Street pub, as well as pizza from Stone’s Fire and Slice – you may have tried one of their beautiful wood-fired pizzas at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Stone recently. There will also be a face painter on the Sunday afternoon.
As is traditional at the Exchange now, we can expect the staff and landlady Michelle to be in fancy dress all weekend. Anyone who saw Michelle dressed as an iceberg for the Titanic centenary will know what I mean! I’m thinking Wellington boots all round for Exchangetonbury. The pub itself will be decorated for the weekend, with lots of artificial grass and strategically placed tents.
Here are the musical offerings over the weekend…
Pete Wearn, 7pm to 8.30pm
Smith and Bates, 8.30pm
The Nurons from 9pm
Open mic, 2pm to 5.30pm
Laura Poppitt, 6.30pm to 8pm
Mark Cocker, 8.30pm
