St Michael’s Church in Stone is holding a Heritage Day on Saturday 5th October – and you’ll be able to climb the church tower for some wonderful views of the town.
The event runs from 10am to 4pm and guides will be on hand to show visitors around the church and this year there will be a special display featuring the chancel and Lady Forrester. Visitors will also be able to view the inside of the Jervis Mausoleum and, weather permitting and for a small donation, climb the tower and see the view of Stone from the top.
Local historian Steve Edwards will be displaying military items associated with Stone and visitors will also be able to see the Stone Priory seal matrix that is now back in the church after a major fundraising effort.
All proceeds from the day are for church funds and refreshments will be available.
