Stone Historical Society’s 2013/14 programme
Stone Historical and Civic Society’s 2013/14 programme gets under way this week after their summer break.
Meetings are held monthly at St Michael’s Church Hall in Lichfield Street at 7.30pm. Admission to non-members is £2.
There’s a varied programme of talks planned, including some on Stone during the First World War to mark the centenary of the start of the Great War.

Wednesday 15th January: Barry Job – “The Mills of the Moddershall Valley”
Wednesday 19th February: Steve Booth – “Stone’s Contribution to The Great War”
Wednesday 19th March: Alan Lewis – “Women at War”
Wednesday 16th April: Chris Copp – “A History of Shugborough: Bronze Age to Present Day”
Wednesday 21st May: Shaun Farrelly – “A trip to the seaside”
Wednesday 18th June: David Templeman – “Mary Queen of Scots the Captive Queen 1568-84”
