Help for jobseekers at Stone library

Jobseekers in Stone can get help with finding work at the next free support event at the library in October.

The next job support afternoon will be held on Tuesday 1st October at Stone Library in Market Square from noon to 3pm.

The event is for anyone who would like to know more about a new career, current vacancies, starting their own business, or looking to find a way back into education, re-training or volunteering. Help available on the day will include support with online job searches, basic IT skills, CV writing and interview techniques.

Mike Lawrence, County Council Cabinet Member for Community, Culture and Localism, said: “Six new people attended the September event at Stone Library, as well as the regular jobseekers, keeping those staffing the event really busy offering advice and guidance on a variety of employment opportunities and training.”

The job support events are a partnership initiative from the National Careers Service, Signposts and Staffordshire County Council’s ‘Start2’ with Jobcentre Plus.

Stone Library will continue to host the free events on the first Tuesday of every month.
