There will be new Christmas lights in the town centre this year as the contract to provide them is re-tendered.
Stone Town Council clerk Les Trigg told the services sub-committee on 17th July that the Christmas lights contract – a joint one between Stone, Stafford Borough Council and Cannock Chase District Council – ended last Christmas.
The closing date for tenders for the new contract ends on Friday 25th July, with the winning contractor expected to be revealed at the meeting of the General Purposes Committee on 4th September.
Mr Trigg said: “The contract is looking for innovative Christmas lights that will be changed year on year. The contract will also give this council the right to approve the lights each year before they go up.”
Look forward to seeing the new lights later this year.
