There’s a Heritage Open Day at St Michael’s Church in Stone on Saturday (4th October), where visitors will have the chance to climb to the top of the church tower.
Running from 10am to 4pm, there’s a chance to climb the church tower if the weather’s good to take in the wonderful views of the town, a tour of the mausoleum and bell chamber will be available, and there’ll be a display of military memorabilia from the area. There will also be the chance to see and find out more about the seal from the former Stone Priory. Refreshments also available.
If you’re in town for the Food and Drink Festival, why not detour and have a look? It’s just a two-minute walk from the town centre.
