Stone mum Steph Brown has had her childminding business nominated for two separate awards with Bizmums, a social enterprise which provides a community-based support network for mums in business.
The enterprise helps alleviate the feelings of frustration, isolation and lack of support experienced by mums resulting from such businesses. There are several groups running across Staffordshire, including Stone, Stafford and Newcastle.
Steph’s business was nominated in the categories of both New Business Award and Exceptional Service Award. She said: “I am feeling so touched and overwhelmed by the comments people have made about my nomination. I started my childminding a year ago, due to struggling to find flexible childcare for my own two children because of changes to my personal situation. I never expected the need to be so high and greatly appreciated by the families who use me.”
Two families shared their views in testimonials for Steph’s awards entry:
As a family we couldn’t be any more happier with the service we get from Stephanie. She has exceeded our expectations as a childminder. Not only is she professional in her setting, but also a very successful businesswoman”
She is very highly skilled at her job, and I’m so pleased I have found her to look after Neave. She has made going back to work very easy for me”
Steph greatly appreciates her business being recognised.
“I don’t do my job for awards or further recognition, but for the love of seeing children grow, thrive and learn,” she said, “as well as being able to spend more time with my own young children.”
Each year Bizmums holds a conference and awards ceremony to acknowledge and celebrate the hard work and achievements of mums. This year’s awards will be held at Alsager’s Manor House Hotel on 17th October. This event is also a great networking platform with some amazing speakers.
Good luck to Steph!
