Best Westbridge Park bonfire and fireworks yet?

Westbridge Park bonfire

The Westbridge Park bonfire and fireworks event on Saturday was one of the best in the event’s 29-year history.

A huge crowd was treated to a gigantic bonfire. Well done to Stone’s Army Cadets for helping to build it. Instead of guys, the bonfire – which was 25ft tall and made from hundreds of pallets – was covered in paintings of Disney characters, a theme that was to continue during the fireworks display.

And as this photo from Kelly Maddox shows, there was a surprise visit from some dragons!

A big well done also to Aston Explorer Scouts for keeping watch on the bonfire overnight with the Army Cadets as it continued to burn well into Sunday.

The fireworks display had a Disney musical theme, with songs from Toy Story, Aladdin and more, ending with Frozen’s Let It Go, which was a big hit with the younger members of the audience – and lots of parents too!

Lots of people commented on the Little Bit of Stone Facebook page on Saturday night to say how much they had enjoyed it…

Caroline Belas – Well done to the Army Cadets for building the bonfire – best ever! xxxx
Kerry Langford – My son helped build it. It took two days and it’s tired him out! He was out cold by 9pm!!

The Westbridge Park bonfire was still smouldering on Sunday afternoon!

Michelle O’Brien Abbot – Fabulous display!!! Loved the theme, with each song change my daughter had to guess what the film was. Made it even more fun. Well done and thank you for all the hard work setting it up to all those involved
John Stokes – Glad that the rain held off for yet another great bonfire and display of fireworks. Our favourite well organised event. Took sarah my daughter in her wheelchair and she loves it every time

We’re looking forward to the 30th anniversary display in 2016!
