The takeaway that will be opening at the back of Baileys DIY in Stone High Street will be a Domino’s.
Planning permission for the takeaway (then unknown) was granted by Stafford Borough Council in October – although that decision didn’t go down well with many people.
Although lots of people on our Facebook page predicted that the takeaway would be a Domino’s, it’s only now that this has been confirmed – in a fresh planning application to Stafford Borough Council for permission to erect seven signs.
Domino’s wants to install an illuminated sign on the High Street above the alleyway to the back of Baileys DIY and Christchurch Way and six others at the back of the Baileys DIY building where the entrance to Domino’s will be.
The building is Grade I listed and in the Stone Town Centre Conservation Area. When granting the original planning application, a borough council planning officer’s report said “care will need to be taken to ensure the new access ramp and railings, and any new signage, do not detract from the historic environment”.
When the takeaway is open opening times will be 11.30am to 11pm seven days a week. The front of the Domino’s will face Christchurch Way, and there will be three parking bays.
