Regent Travel raised over £2,000 for the town’s community first responders in 2015.
Each year the High Street travel agent raises money for a good cause. Last week they presented the final cheque, for £600, to Stone First Responders, taking the final total to £2,100.
A number of fundraising events over the year all contributed to the huge final amount, including a Fairy Tales and Fairy Cakes event last June which saw staff donning fancy dress and serving up cakes and coffee. They also raised £400 of the total by making donations instead of sending Christmas cards.
Regent Travel’s chosen charity for 2016 is Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Look out for some great fundraising events this year. On 12th May staff will be embracing the theme of “It’s A Small World” and will be dressed as countries from around the world, with lots of activities in store for the day. Also watch out for their spooky Halloween event on 31st October – “Ghosts and Ghouls” – when you can enjoy a Halloween treat and a glass of blood punch, all for a very good cause.
