Over 2,500 people visit the first Sandon Spring Fair

Sandon Hall was a beautiful setting for the first Sandon Spring Fair

Over 2,500 visitors enjoyed food and drink, live music and lots more at the first ever Sandon Spring Fair at Sandon Hall.

The new event, run by Sandon Hall in partnership with the team behind the Stone Food & Drink Festival, attracted a broad demographic of visitors with its mix of food and craft stalls, live music, family fun activities and the chance to tour the historic house.

Despite April showers making an appearance on the Sunday afternoon, little could dampen the spirits of over 2,500 visitors who made their way through the hall’s stately gates over the course of the weekend.

Jon Guard, general manager at Sandon Hall, said: “It’s been a fantastic weekend. There were points where we were concerned about the weather but, apart from a chill in the air when the sun passed behind a cloud and the odd shower on Sunday afternoon, we were blessed with blue skies. The turnout was great and the feedback from visitors and stallholders has been overwhelmingly positive, with many exhibitors already enquiring about how to book for next year.

“This being the first year, we’ve also learned a few lessons – for example, the historic house tours were hugely popular and all tours were over-subscribed; so this is certainly something we will address in the future along with some other ideas we have had to make the event even better. Overall, it’s been a real success and is certainly something we’d like to make an annual event.”
