Stone Rugby Club is hosting a summer of ‘Turn Up & Touch Rugby’ at Westbridge Park.
Touch rugby is a minimal contact and thoroughly enjoyable version of the game that will burn lots of calories. It’s a perfect way to get in shape over the summer that’s far more enjoyable than pounding the pavements – it’s a highly sociable way to exercise.
This is the first time that Stone RUFC will be holding an event away from their Enson Lane ground. It’s an ideal taster session for those who want to try rugby for the first time. Figures released by the RFU have shown a growth in people taking up the game, with a huge increase in the number of women playing the game.
This event – supported by the RFU – will run for four weeks and is open to men and women over 14. There is no need for registration – all participants need to do is simply turn up and join in. Don’t worry if you’ve never played rugby before – picking up the game is very simple! Regardless of age (+14), gender, background or physical condition you will be assured of a warm welcome and will be included in the games.
