Stone Revellers new production “Songs for a New World”, is getting started, and they want YOU to audition!
A show that takes the audience on an emotional journey through the life changing moments that define us all, Songs for a New World takes musical influence from soul, gospel and jazz. A beautiful & challenging production, it provides its players with both solo and group pieces, with most people being involved in at least 2 of the 16 songs it comprises.
Every part in the show is up for grabs, with decisions being made on auditions alone. At least 4 men and 4 women are required (16+). Details below provided by the Revellers:
Workshop: Wed 26th October, 19:30 – 21:00
Audition 1: Thurs 27th October, 19:30 – 21:30
Audition 2: Sun 30th October14:30 – 17:00
Venue: St Michael’s Hall, Lichfield St, Stone.
(Workshop is optional and you need only attend one audition slot!)
Show Dates: 22nd-25th March 2017
We will be asking everyone to perform a snippet of two songs. The first will be a section from the opening song “A New World” which features the whole cast, here we would like people to focus on the singing. The second song choice is up to you, but should be all about performance – simply telling the story. In each case we are only looking for a verse and a chorus and have currently got backing tracks to a few songs but not all.
We will be holding a workshop on 26th of October which will be a good chance to meet the team and get a feel for the production, practice for the audition and ask any questions, in the meantime all the songs can be found on Youtube and please get in touch for more information.
