Alleynes Academy is looking to expand its buildings to cope with increased demand from the town’s growing population.
New housing has led to a significant population growth in the catchment area, and the planned changes will create an additional 30 high school places in each year group to ensure pupils are offered a local school place.
The expansion will include three general teaching rooms, a science laboratory, remodeling of the Sixth Form and dining provision, and associated pupil and staff toilets. The Governing Body will then be able to fulfill it’s commitment to providing places for local children.
There will be a six week consultation period within the community to provide anyone interested an opportunity to read about proposed changes and see the plans for the schools development. There will also be a consultation meeting at the school on Wednesday 8th March 2017 between 5pm and 6:30pm.
The consultation document is available to view on the school website www.AlleynesAcademy.co.uk
