Stone-based Elliott Shuttleworth and business partner Matthew Melling are celebrating after being named ‘Young businesspersons of the Year’ at last night’s Sentinel Business Awards
The team behind the well-loved Flip Out trampoline park in Stone was also named runner up in the small business of the year and entrepreneur of the year categories.
Judges were impressed with the rapid growth and investment in facilities in the company’s Stone and Chester arenas, with Chester being the world’s biggest trampoline park. The 26 year old duo also now have plans to open a new store in Worcester, which will take the total people employed by Shuttleworth & Melling Ltd to around 350 people. The Stone arena is a popular leisure attraction with children, families and adults of all ages, who enjoy fitness classes, parties, corporate away days, autism awareness sessions, ski nights and ‘after dark’ events at the Stone Business Park venue.
Elliott grew up in Stone and still lives there. He runs the business alongside business partner Matthew Melling, and parents Yvonne and Paul Shuttleworth, also of Stone.
Elliott comments: “It’s been an incredible 18 months – a lot of hard work, many challenges, but also a lot of fun, recruiting and training such a great team of staff who all believe in providing an awesome experience for our visitors. We already have over 2,500 five star reviews across our Stone and Chester venues, and we’re thrilled to now also receive this accolade from the Sentinel’s judging panel.”
He adds: “We’d like to thank all our team and all our visitors, who have really embraced what we are trying to do with Flip Out – create an amazing time where people can exercise, have fun and build their physical confidence, as well as have fantastic parties!”
The team have recently announced a new a new American Style diner for the Stone facility so it’s good to see a business doing well, attracting visitors and employing local people.
Well done from us all at ALBOS, a really well deserved win.
