Warmer Homes Service Renewed for Further Two Years

Stafford Borough Council’s affordable warmth service has recently been re-tendered for an additional two years.

Stone residents can access free and impartial support to help lower their bills and improve the comfort within their homes. The WHS team help support residents in Fuel Poverty and those living in cold homes. WHS provides advice, offers home visits, signposts to additional services and helps those in need access grants and financial support for energy efficiency improvements and other support with their energy costs.

WHS currently has access to a grant scheme to improve heating systems for the most vulnerable and we can advise on grants for insulation and other measures. Home energy advice visits are available for the most vulnerable and to support households with complex issues.

There will also be some opportunities to hold face to face events at community day centres, coffee mornings and in partnership with local organisations throughout the year. These can be flexible and arranged with local partners. Please get in touch if you would like to explore an event for clients or staff.

The Warmer Homes Stafford (WHS) scheme is managed by Marches Energy Agency (a Shrewsbury based fuel poverty and energy efficiency charity). Residents can self-refer or can be referred by case workers, partner organisations or friends and relatives via 0800 677 1785 or via email at enquiries@warmerhomesstafford.org.uk. More information on the scheme is available online at www.warmerhomesstafford.org.uk.
