The first annual Ginger and Spice Festival taking place in Market Drayton, Shropshire this September will now showcase internationally acclaimed Stand-up Comedian George Egg’s Edinburgh Fringe sell-out show “DIY Chef.”

George Egg is a stand-up comedian who cooks food, surprisingly good food, live on stage using unconventional methods and unexpected equipment.

In GEORGE EGG: DIY CHEF a health scare sees George banished from the family kitchen, but relocated to the garden shed his imagination and resourcefulness lead him to build an improvised kitchen there instead. During an inspiring and inventive hour of stand-up comedy George prepares a breakfast, a lunch and a dinner using a wallpaper stripper, a heat gun, a paper shredder and a whole host of other power tools, office equipment, hair-dressing appliances and gardening implements. And the audience get to eat the food at the end.

Festival organiser, Julia Roberts, said,

‘We are absolutely thrilled that George Egg is starring at the first annual Ginger and Spice Festival, with his critically acclaimed show, ‘DIY Chef’. We hope that his humour and creativity will set the tone for the festival.’
