Public consultation into new car storage facility in Stone

Stoford Developments Limited is holding a public consultation to hear your views on their proposed plans for a new car storage facility at Jasper Way in Stone.

The plans and proposals will be presented at the Stone House Hotel on 17th October (between 4:30pm and 7:00pm) and 18th October (between 4:30pm and 7:00pm)

Jasper Way is being billed ase a modern, high quality, economically sustainable development that will make a valuable contribution to providing up to 75 jobs for Stone and the surrounding area.

As one of Staffordshire’s employment sites, it will contribute to, and help raise, the County’s economic profile encouraging inward investment.

Stoford have stated that the proposed site layout utilises the site to the best of its potential while ensuring ecological areas are protected.

The site is accessed from the West. via Jasper way offering comfortable off road parking prior to the gatehouse should the need arise.  HGV transporters will enter the site at this location, receive instruction from the gatehouse and unload at their assigned transporter lane.  Where possible the HGV will then be reloaded with vehicles prior to leaving the site ensuring efficiency while reducing vehicle movements and pollution.

The site itself is being described as low lying and owing to the nature of the stock will be screened using a mix of fencing and landscaping.

Further details, maps, environmental impacts, and suggested traffic routes as well as mocked up viewpoints can  be seen on a dedicated website that’s been created for the proposed development – http://jasperwaystone.com/

  1. I hope they consider the extra traffic entering and leaving the site and perhaps think of including traffic signals on the roundabout from the A34. For those of us who work on the site it can be almost impossible to exit at peak times with all the traffic heading North.

  2. It’s jobs versus the environment isn’t it. The pollution and traffic nuisance is too near to where I live, so I DO NOT SUPPORT IT!

    • New jobs for Stone and it’s surrounding areas can only be a good thing. The traffic impact on an already busy road will be negligible.
