The inspiration behind the dishes of Aston Marina’s new No.26 bar and eatery is the use of the finest seasonal ingredients, all sourced as locally as possible. This is highlighted by the restaurant’s new seasonal menu which launched at the beginning of October.
Seasonal fruit, veg, meat and fish is celebrated from starters through to main courses, with wholesome, comfort-inducing dishes perfect for this time of year. New starters include Wild Mushroom & Creamy Blue Cheese served on toasted sourdough bread; Camembert for two to share served with white bloomer, red onion & cranberry marmalade and Crispy Black Pudding served with a soft poached egg, confit cherry tomato and Hollandaise sauce.
Main courses include Duo of Local Venison with a herb crust haunch and slow roast shoulder bonbon, dauphinoise potatoes, chestnut mushroom, marjoram, red wine & juniper jus and seasonal greens; Wild Mushroom & White Truffle Risotto and Soft Poached Cod Cheeks & Monkfish Buridda.
Those with a sweet tooth will be delighted by new desserts that include Apple & Blackberry Cinnamon Oat Crumble; Cappuccino & Irish Cream Cheese Cake and Poached Plum with granola and clotted cream ice cream among a host of sweet treats and with the Marina’s renowned cheese selection still on offer for those who prefer a more savoury end to their meal.
Old favourites will still sit alongside the new seasonal dishes, such as steaks from the grill, pies of the day, salads, pizzas from the woodfired pizza oven and sandwiches ensure there’s plenty of choice for all appetites; with vegan and gluten free options always on offer. There are also daily specials on the board meaning plenty of variety even for regular diners.
Director at the marina, Helen Webb, says: “Part of the ethos of No.26 draws on our passion or local, seasonal ingredients that we hold dear from the days of the farm shop. This means our kitchen team is being continually challenged to come up with creative, delicious ways to use what is on offer at any given time of year and in the Autumn menu we think they’ve really come up with the goods. Our aim is to offer a relaxed, comfortable dining environment where you can enjoy food that makes you feel good – autumn is the ultimate time of year for comfort eating, and we hope you find plenty on our new menu to satisfy your cravings.”
The new seasonal menu is being served daily at No.26 Aston Marina, which is also open for Breakfast and Brunch service and serves teas, coffees and cakes throughout the day. The full menu can be viewed at www.astonmarina.co.uk – to make a reservation, call 01785 819702 or email email@example.com
