Stone tap dancers set to ‘do their thing’ for Children in Need

Rooftop tappers Will Tonge and Verity Ann Caddy getting ready to raise funds for BBC Children in NeedDuring this month fundraisers across the country are getting set to ‘do their thing’ to raise money for Children in Need – and Sunday, 19th November will see a group of dedicated tap dancers doing just that at the town’s Rooftop Studios.

Dancers from the studio’s own tap classes as well as those from the Marye Humphreys School of Dance and Steelworks will converge to perform, led by tap teacher Verity Ann Caddy, as part of nationwide initiative The Performers’ Project ‘Tapathon’.
Some 38 tap dancers from across the three schools have been busy practicing a choreographed routine with the aim of breaking a world record as part of the broader project – while raising funds for a very worthy cause.
The public are welcome to pop into the studio on the day to cheer on the participants and buy cakes and other refreshments that will be on offer, with all proceeds going straight into the fundraising pot.
The Tapathon will be taking place between 12pm and 2pm on Sunday 19th November at Rooftop Studios, above the High Street arcade in Stone. For more information on the Tapathon head tohttp://www.theperformersproject.co.uk/
