Electrical problems have forced the temporary closure of Barlaston Health Centre.

GPs from the practice stress that the closure is temporary.

But while the Barlaston centre is closed, all medical services and appointments for the Dr Griffiths and Partners practice have been moved to the main site at Cumberland House Surgery in Stone High Street.

Barlaston Parish Council posted on their Facebook page this morning:

On Saturday, the Barlaston Community Group Facebook page posted this information:

A spokesman for NHS England, which part-commissions the service, told The Sentinel: “While patient safety is always absolutely paramount, we appreciate this may cause concern and inconvenience for any patients affected by the temporary closure. We are working closely with Stafford and Surrounds clinical commissioning group (CCG) and the practice to ensure patients are offered immediate alternative GP services at the main surgery in Stone.”

People needing repeat medications are taking prescriptions to local chemists Kitson’s which is driving them to Cumberland House twice a day to be signed by doctors so drugs can be dispensed.

The practice says it will update its website with more information soon.
