Stone residents are being urged to put their bins out for collection on the right days over the holidays.
Across Stafford borough there are revised collection dates for green, brown & blue bins from Christmas Eve through to Saturday 7 January. Changes to the collection dates are clearly marked on the calendars and residents can also check online by entering their postcode at www.staffordbc.gov.uk/collectiondays
All Stafford Borough residents will also have the opportunity to recycle extra cardboard after Christmas. The cardboard should be left by the side of the blue bin on the first blue collection day. To prevent littering the cardboard should be tied together in a bundle, but not put in plastic bags.
Around 200 extra tonnes of dry recycling is usually collected over the Christmas period, so residents are also advised to free up extra space in their blue bin by removing the paper caddy and placing it at the side of the bin if needed. If the caddy is used this way, contents must be in recyclable carrier bags.
Textiles and small electrical items can also be left for collection by placing them in bags by the side of bins on either blue or green collection days.
