On Friday 3rd March Stone will be joining hundreds of other towns, villages and cities across the UK to take part in the 2017 Great British Spring Clean
As with lots of ideas, the brainchild for this idea came from a single individual in 2015 called Melissa Murdoch. Melissa had an idea to get people from all walks of life together in cleaning up the rubbish that surrounds us. Together, with Adrian Evans, Keep Britain Tidy, Country Life Magazine and a range of supporting partners the Clean for The Queen campaign inspired 250,000 people to get involved in local clean ups.
In March 2017 they want to inspire 500,000 people to get outdoors, get active and help clear up the rubbish that lies around us and are calling on individuals, community groups, charities, sports clubs, business, local authorities and many more to sign up and take part.
The Stone clean up will take place on Friday March 3rd, at 10 am.
People are invited to come together meeting at MayFair Dry Cleaners Car Park in Stafford Street ( opposite the Swan ) to begin their litter pick.
The group will be supported by Streetscene and it is advised that you wear gloves.
