Academics celebrates 6 years in Staffordshire

AcademicsAcademics, the national education recruitment agency, are celebrating 6 years in the area!

Working with Primary and Secondary schools they have helped to recruit Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors for short term, long term and permanent roles.

The local office, based in Stoke, has grown organically in the last 6 years. Branch Manager, Emily Faragher, who has been with the company since the office opened, explains their success

“We have developed fantastic relationships with our schools and teachers, with many working with us since we opened 6 years ago. This is testament to our teams caring and honest approach. We are a friendly and customer focused company who want the best for all our staff and schools.”

The areas covered by the Academics Stoke office is as follows:

  • Stoke
  • Crewe
  • Newcastle Under Lyme
  • Staffordshire Moorlands
  • Stone
  • Eccleshall

After the success achieved in these areas the business is now looking to expand into Stafford over the coming year.

Emily explained:

“We have developed key partnerships with schools and teachers in our current areas and know that we can offer that same level of dedication and service in Stafford. We would be very interested to hear from teachers wanting to work in Stafford or any of the areas we currently cover.”

As well as placing qualified Teachers in schools Academics also provide Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors. The Cover Supervisor role is ideal for anyone interested in a career in teaching as it will help them to gain valuable classroom experience. There is no teaching experience or qualification necessary and it involves covering short-term absence in a secondary school. The only requirement is that you have at least 6 weeks experience of working with young people.

Mandy, who has been a daily supply teacher for a number of schools with Academics, said:

“I love working for Academics. Matthew has been great from the minute he approached me. Within days, my interview, paperwork and DBS check was complete and I was found work in several different primary schools. I have been kept busy and Matthew always phones to check how I’m doing and whether I’m happy at the school I am working at. He also provides feedback from schools and has arranged it so I return to my favourite schools. I have recommended Academics to several colleagues”

One secondary school teacher, Christina, has worked with the Academics Stoke office for several years and said the key reason she works with them is that:

They offer a personal touch with professional values”
