Rooftop Studios packed schedule of summer workshops will delight youngsters who love to sing, dance and act, and their parents looking to keep the busy over the school holidays!
Targeted at ages 3 – 11, with several sessions also suited to those aged 12 – 18, workshops cover a huge range of topics guaranteed to inspire young imaginations.
The younger age group sessions include and Alice in Wonderland workshop – with a host of activities in the studio on Monday 31st July and Tuesday 1st – plus an optional trip to the theatre on Wednesday 2nd August. A two-day workshop based on the hit movie Ballerina will follow, on Thursday 4th & Friday 5th August, with youngsters learning songs, dances and dressing up in costumes before putting on a show for friends and family on the Friday afternoon.
A West End performer will visit for the next workshop for those aged 12 – 18 years on Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th August to teach songs, dances and scenes from the successful musical American Idiot. The next sessions – School of Rock, running on 16th & 17th August, and Shrek the Musical on Friday 18th August, are suitable for all age groups.
The final workshops in the series are once again targeted at 3 – 11 year olds, with Minion Monday, 21st August perfect for Despicable Me fans; Alvin and the Chipmunks on Tuesday 22nd and Little Mix Day on Wednesday 23rd August seeing youngsters learn and perform song and dance routines made famous by the world’s biggest girl band. The final workshop in the series will be a two-day celebration of the musical Sing; taking place on Thursday 24th & Fri 25th August.
Studio director, Laura Keeling, says: “Our summer holiday club has grown in popularity over the past few years and this year will be the biggest and best yet. We’ve picked a really diverse range of topics to ensure there’s something for everyone and plenty of opportunity for youngsters to learn new skills and hone their talents. These workshops are also great fun and are suitable for everyone – whether they’re seasoned performers or have never taken a singing or dance class in their lives.”
All workshops will be led by Rooftop Studios’ fully qualified and CRB checked staff, who are professional performers in their own right, and wraparound care is available.
