After the resounding success of the first event in July, Stone Town Council have organised another late night shopping event in Stone High Street
The event in July was really well received, with positive reviews from those who attended as well as those who opened their shops or took a market stall.
The event in August builds on the initial event and will take place on Thursday 17th August, from 4pm until 9pm, on Stone High Street.
There will be a range of craft, food and other market stalls and a lot of Stone’s unique High Street shops will also stay open late into the evening offering a wide selection of exciting merchandise and special offers.
The atmosphere of the night will be complemented by music from the Florence Brass band, and this time even more entertainment for children, with rides, Messy Play and face painting being a few of the attractions on offer.
Councillor Jill Hood, Vice-Chairman of the Council’s Tourism and Town Promotion Sub-Committee said:
“If you want a memorable evening out, don’t miss the Stone late night shopping evening. Browse the market for unusual items, at the last market there were bowler hats, ornamental milk churns, uniquely designed jewellery, art, soft furnishings and freshly baked food. There’s also a chance to visit the local shops, enjoy the entertainment, and finish off the evening in one of the town’s fine eateries. Bring your friends and family for a night you will all remember.”
These late night events have been organised by Stone Town Council and have been supported by many of the traders and organisations in Stone. These type of events showcase to the people of Stone, and also the wider area, what a great little town that we have.
