Our Causes

The Stone Community Hub work tirelessly all year round to provide support for the most vulnerable in our community. The registered charity is dedicated to improving the lives of local residents by providing support and advice in times of need. Based at the Frank Jordan Centre, their facilities & members offer Employment Advice, A Youth Café, Health and Wellbeing Sessions, Advice on Managing Debt, Social Support via a free drop-in Café and a Food Bank for those experiencing temporary hardship.

Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer, and the British Heart Foundation‘s mission is to win the fight against cardiovascular disease.

Heart Failure has touched ALBOS twofold.
Family member Jessica Allen was born with a serious heart condition which she had to live with all her life. Jess battled with the condition including multiple open heart surgeries (the latest in Summer 17) but sadly lost that fight when she was taken far too soon in September, at the age of just 21.

ALBOS team member Lauren was also diagnosed with Heart Failure in August 2016, being only days away from her heart shutting down completely due to ignorance of the signs of Heart Failure. Since then she has endeavoured to raise awareness to prevent others from finding themselves in the same position.

For both these reasons, half of what we raise at the quiz will be going to this JustGiving account:
