Award Winning Local Artist Performs in Stone for Christmas

Begin your festive celebrations with a bang this year, as local award-winning percussionist Miriam Kitchener is bringing her exciting series of musical performances to Stone this December, with an interactive Christmas concert for the whole family!

With some unexpected twists to make you smile, the festive concert, will showcase a wide range of musical styles performed on a diverse array of percussion instruments.

Miriam says; “We will be playing a selection of well-known festive favourites such as ‘The Nutcracker’ and ‘The 12 days of Christmas’ like you’ve never heard them before. What’s more, the audience will get the chance to join in on some more unusual percussion instruments!”

Former Alleyne’s Academy student Miriam is now studying for a Masters Degree in Percussion at Birmingham Conservatoire. It is here where she works alongside her duo partner, George. Together they are ‘G-Mizz’ and have a wealth of learning and participation experience between them.

As well as being an accomplished performer, Miriam is also passionate about working with the local community and is looking forward to bringing this enthusiasm to Stone: “I am thrilled to be returning to my home town for this unique concert. I really enjoy being able to bring percussion music to life and look forward to helping you get into the festive spirit!”.
