New bereavement group starts in Stone

A new bereavement support group is being trialled in stone, aiming to support those within the community who are struggling with effects of grief and loneliness.

The five-week workshop-style group will be held on Tuesday evenings, starting Tuesday 3rd April. The initiative is called, ‘Holding Dear,’ and is being supported by Co-op Funeralcare and local professional therapists. The evenings will allow participants the opportunity to cherish the memory of their loved ones creatively and within an uplifting environment.

Local Independent Funeral Officiant, Steve Game-Blackmoor, says “It is a much-needed opportunity, which allows those who are struggling to come to terms with their loss, to meet others close by, who are in a comparable situation.”

Paul Evans, from Stone Co-op Funeralcare, will be hosting the evenings.

The meetings will be held on Tuesdays, for five weeks, at St Michaels’ Church Hall in Stone at 6pm.
