On Saturday 7th April members of the Stone branch of the SSAFA will be at the farmers market in Stone High Street
The SSAFA is an armed forces charity that provides care and support to ex-servicemen and their families, both nationally and at a local level.
The Stone group is relatively small at the moment, but through a series of fundraising and social events, they are hoping to increase membership and awareness.
This Saturday, during the farmers market, the group we will be in town handing out information about the work SSAFA do, but also about a new ‘ social cycling club’ they are looking to start.
The cycling clubs will be open to all ages and abilities but children will need to competent on a bike and be accompanied by an adult. The group isn’t about racing or time trials… it’s just cycling, coffee, cake and camaraderie.
Support and advice will be provided care of Matt, who is a qualified ride leader, from the Bike Shack on Radford Street.
If you’re not able to pop along on Saturday then pop into the Bike Shack and have a chat with Matt directly.
The first ride will be discussed at a social event in May which will take place at Stone Community Fire Station.
