The winners of Sandon Hall’s wedding reception competition have been revealed

Newcastle-under-Lyme couple  Tom Savage and Amber Griffiths have been named the winners of Sandon Hall’s competition to win a £12,000 wedding reception at the venue following a hotly contested public vote

Tom & Amber amassed an impressive 8,766 votes over a two-week period, with Stone-based Lisa McCandliss & Stacey Hulse finishing second with 6,767 votes and Cameron Howard-Wight and Charlotte Hughes from Stafford finishing on 2,059.

Tom & Amber as the winning couple will enjoy their wedding reception at Sandon Hall on Saturday, 27th April 2019 with a prize package that includes catering courtesy of award-winning Vanilla in Allseasons; a drinks package and 5 hour DJ set from The Estate Boys, photography by New Road Photography, toasts led by The Staffordshire Toastmaster and venue dressing service courtesy of Vintage Venue Dressing.

 Tom says:

“Thank you so much to everyone who has voted for us. We have been blown away by the support we’ve had!

“Winning this amazing prize means we will be able to get married as-well as getting our first home in the next 12 months, which we never thought would be possible and means we get to start the next chapter of our lives together.

“We would also like to thank Sandon Hall for this fantastic opportunity. This really is the wedding of our dreams! We cannot wait to start planning!”

Sandon Hall Events Manager, Laura Davies, says:

“We are delighted for Tom and Amber and look forward to sharing their journey up to their special day with them. The public have really got behind this competition and we’d like to thank everyone who took the time to vote, our wonderful three finalist couples – we’re just glad we didn’t have the job of choosing the winner ourselves as it would have been impossible – and all the other lovely couples who entered the competition back in April and made our job shortlisting entries so very difficult!

“We can’t wait to start working with Tom and Amber on bringing their vision for their wedding reception at the hall to reality.”

  1. Very nice for them but I thought the lesbian couple should have won because it’s been a longt time coming this type of thing being accepted they seemed like very nice people not just lesbians but a midwife and one of them had cancer. Needless to say I am happy for these people because they didn’t know any different but at least the lesbians got an article in the newspaper about time long time coming and we’ll deserved let’s hope these two do a fundraiser for breast cancer like the lesbians wanted to do nice ladies that’s what I say stop the stigma let’s just let people do what they want if the politicians can do it can’t we all we’ve got a female president after all now that’s one thing!
