A Stone youth club is looking for new volunteers to help with their growing numbers.
The Youth Cafe, held at the Frank Jordan Centre, needs volunteer youth workers to work with young people age 10 to 12, by supervising craft activities, computer games, pool and table tennis, delivering activities such as quizzes, serving tuck and general support.
The club takes place on Thursday evenings from 6pm to 9pm. With a recent increase of members from local middle schools now attending each week, plus two current volunteers retiring, the youth club urgently needs additional volunteers to help with projects, crafts and supporting other activities. Unfortunately, without extra volunteers it will have to close.
A vibrant part of Stone Community Hub, the Youth Cafe provides a safe environment for youngsters to relax, socialise and take part in a range of activities and crafts.
Volunteers will ideally have some experience of working with children, youth work and safeguarding. Training and DBS checks will be provided by the club, along with a criminal record check. They will also need to be over 18, and able to get to the Frank Jordan Centre.
