Moddershall Oaks unveils £1.5 million Wellness Centre

Luxury Stone Country Spa Retreat, Moddershall Oaks has unveiled their new wellness centre; MADE, and A Little Bit of Stone got a sneak preview of the delights it has to offer.

The “first of it’s kind” centre has been inspired by Director Penny Weston’s own journey to fitness and health, and aims to redefine the way in which people view health and wellness, and create a happier and healthier everyday life through discovery, encouragement and positivity.

Surrounded by stunning countryside, the new wellness building will offer a safe haven for a vibrant community of like-minded and positive people. With the best fitness experts and professionals in the area, MADE is more than simply a brand but a lifestyle. Passionate about motivation, the new team will encourage guests and members to become their best selves; from food to workouts, MADE is all about living well.

On first impressions from the outside, the MADE building seems understated, blending in with the landscape, with only the outdoor Training Terrace over looked by a wall of glass giving a hint at what might lie inside. Greeting you inside is the colourful, sleek MADE cafe, and you begin to get the idea that more awaits.

The cafe itself, which will be open to all, will offer healthy, delicious snacks, juices & smoothies, and more. ALBOS personally recommends the “Beet Me” cocktail! The MADE cafe’s principal belief is that healthy food doesn’t have to be tasteless, the wellness Café at MADE will offer tasty colourful dishes that are as appealing to the eye as to the palate as well as being packed full of nutritional benefits. The menu steers  clear from refined sugar and artificial ingredients and instead nourishing the body with whole, mineral-rich foods whilst still feeling indulgent. For those on a tight schedule, the takeaway option will be available to ‘grab and go’.

Moving on to the four bespoke workout spaces, with something to appeal to fitness novices and enthusiasts alike. The Cycling Cave is a truly immersive experience. LED lighting follows the movement of the hi-tech bikes, and the interactive screen giving endless workout possibilities. The Boutique Fitness Gym has been designed to embrace the natural light and countryside views and is packed with a large range of custom-made black fitness equipment.

The Outdoor Training Terrace, complete with 150m2 of cushioned astro turf has been designed for bootcamp style workouts, stretching and sunrise yoga sessions.A Functional Studio completes the fitness offering, with an innovatively fitted floor to provide the perfect level of ‘bounce’ when it comes to weight lifting and barre classes. Offering a bespoke and personal approach to wellness, MADE also has two treatment rooms, which will house the very best in sports recovery, rehabilitation, hypnotherapy, nutrition consultations and GP referrals.

On the opening, Director, Penny Weston comments, “At Moddershall Oaks we are constantly innovating and evolving to meet with market demands and we felt that there was a huge gap in the market when it came to bespoke and boutique fitness and health facilities.  MADE comes from a very personal place. In the past few years I have drastically changed my approach to wellness and I wish that I had a facility like MADE when I started my journey to wellness. We have an incredible team and we are so looking forward to sharing this special and exciting journey with Staffordshire and beyond”

MADE is not just a fitness centre, and aims to provide a full package of wellness, including self care. Sunrise & sunset yoga classes are planned to make the most of the beautiful surroundings. The centre is child friendly will also be children’s classes alongside adult ones.

The belief that a chance to enter a space that is dedicated to ‘you’, and a complete 360 wellness through yoga, meditation, workshops is core to leading a happy, healthy life is very much apparent, from the clever, thoughtful design, to the openness and encouragement from all the staff. We are not the typical gym-going clientele by any means, but we were utterly charmed by the building and the team, and came away motivated and excited by the information and experience we received.

The centre has take nearly 3 years to come to fruition, with Penny first having the idea in December 2015, and 20,000 tonnes of earth was relocated to make way for the building. The cafe opens it’s doors on the 17th August, and the full centre follows on the 20th August. For more information visit
