District Website and Social Media Manager
This role helps the District share news, events, and good stories online so volunteers, parents, and the local community know what’s going on. It’s mainly about keeping information up to date and sharing messages, not technical web design.
You don’t need to be an expert with websites or social media. If you’re happy using email, basic online tools, and following instructions, you can do this role.
What you’ll actually do
• Keep the District website information up to date
— Dates, events, contacts, and news
• Share simple posts on social media about:
— District events
— Training opportunities
— Good news stories and achievements
• Pass on information from District leaders or the County by posting or sharing it
• Collect short updates or photos from other volunteers (with permission)
• Make sure messages are friendly, positive, and appropriate
What you won’t need to do
• You don’t need to build or design a website
• You don’t need advanced IT or marketing skills
• You don’t need to create videos or complex graphics
• You don’t need to post constantly — quality matters more than quantity
