Group Treasurer

You don’t need to be a finance expert to be a Group Treasurer. This role is about keeping things organised and making sure the Group’s money is looked after properly.

 

What you’ll actually do
• Keep a record of money coming in and going out
• Pay and keep track of bills and expenses
• Work with fellow trustees to ensure the group has enough money to cover planned activities and expenses
• Share updates with the Trustee Board so everyone knows how things are going
• Help put together an end-of-year summary of the Group’s finances
• Make sure money from fundraising is handled safely
• Applications for Gift Aid.

 

What you don’t need
• You don’t need to be an accountant
• You don’t need specialist qualifications
• You don’t need previous Scouting experience
Support, templates, and training are provided, and you’ll never be expected to do this alone.
