Man charged with assault on parking warden

Police have charged a Stone man after an assault on a civil enforcement officer in the town centre last month.

The 52-year-old, who has not been named by Staffordshire Police, was charged on Monday 15th November and bailed to appear at Cannock Magistrates Court on Monday 29th November.

He is charged with assaulting a male Civil Enforcement Officer in the High Street on 15th October and has also been charged with a public order offence.

Sgt Dave Ingham from Stone Neighbourhood Policing Unit (NPU) said: “Following a detailed inquiry a man has been charged with common assault and a public order offence. Assaults on Civil Enforcement Officers will not be tolerated by Staffordshire Police.”

Civil enforcement officers enforce yellow line parking restrictions for Stafford Borough Council.
