Warning as 200 boxes of fireworks stolen

Officers from South Staffordshire Local Policing Team (LPT) have warned people in Stone that they may be offered stolen fireworks at a knockdown price after 200 boxes were stolen from a farm in Penkridge.

The warning comes after offender/s approached a farm in the Penkridge area, forced entry into a steel container and stole approximately 200 boxes of professional display fireworks, valued at £6000. It is believed they accessed the farm in a vehicle.

The incident happened between 6pm on Thursday 25th September and 5pm on Friday 26th September.

People are reminded that fireworks can be dangerous and cause serious harm if they fall into the wrong hands. These types of fireworks are normally activated electronically by professionals.

Anyone with any information on the theft, or who is offered such fireworks in suspicious circumstances, is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 483 of September 27. Alternatively they can contact independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
