Music festival makes lots of new Friends!

Another Friend of the Festival signs up on Saturday!

Organisers of Stone Music and Arts Festival were at the farmers’ market at the weekend drumming up support for this May’s event – and making plenty of new friends!

Lots of local people signed up to become a Friend of the Festival. For £10, Friends are kept up to date by email, receive a “bag of goodies” including a pen and key ring and preferential seating (on a first come, first served basis) at all the free stages during the week.  They also get first call on tickets for the few ticketed events.

Steve Brookes, chairman of the organising group, said: “It really will be a bumper event this year. Not only will we be bringing some early summer fun to the people of the town, we think the festival will attract thousands of people into Stone too.”

A Little Bit Of Stone will be covering all the news and developments in the run-up to the festival, and we’ve got some big plans for festival week itself – May 23rd to 29th.

    A great event for Stone this year.
    Just a reminder that all of the organising committee are volunteers and give their time and effort for free.
    All the volunteers are local people with their hearts in Stone, giving their time and effort for the community.
    As a member of the organising committee it is an honour to be part of this wonderful event. Our beautiful town will benifit from this Music and Arts Festival this year and for the forseeable future.

      Absolutely Phil! It’s a great event but like so many in this great town it relies on dedicated volunteers. All the very best for this year’s festival – I’ll certainly be covering it extensively on A Little Bit Of Stone :)
