The Story of A Little Bit of Stone
A Little Bit of Stone, often shortened to ALBOS, is Stone’s independent local news and community platform.
We first appeared online in August 2010, with a simple aim, to help people in Stone keep up to date with what is happening in their town.
Since then, ALBOS has grown into a trusted local platform covering news, events, businesses, sport, community updates and useful information for Stone in Staffordshire and the surrounding villages.
Our website sits at the heart of what we do. It includes local news, our What’s On guide, jobs section, business directory and information for organisations that want to advertise with us.
Our social media channels and newsletter help us reach people wherever they prefer to follow local updates, but A Little Bit of Stone is more than a social media page. It is a long standing local news website and community platform built around Stone and the people who live, work and visit here.
What we cover
We cover the everyday stories that matter locally, from road closures, planning matters and public services to new businesses, charity fundraisers, local events, sport, achievements and community campaigns.
We also share practical local information, helping residents find out what is happening, where to go, who to contact and how to support the people, groups and businesses that make up the town.
Our focus is Stone, but we also cover nearby villages and wider stories where they are relevant to local residents.
