Michael Barnsley from Stone is running the London Marathon on Sunday to raise money for the Anthony Nolan Foundation.
Anthony Nolan is a pioneering charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer. Every day, the charity uses its register to match remarkable donors willing to donate their blood stem cells to people who desperately need lifesaving transplants.
Michael said: “This is my first marathon and the training has gone pretty well. I’m a little nervous now but probably more excited! The Anthony Nolan Foundation probably doesn’t get as much attention as many other charities and I know it had an impact on a child from the local area, a friend of my brother’s.
“So this was just an opportunity to try and raise awareness and hopefully raise a good amount of money.”
If you’d like to sponsor Michael, you can do so at his Just Giving page. All the best to him on Sunday!
