In pictures: Stone Jubilee street party

rain

Umbrellas were out in force on a rainy and miserable day

Well, the weather wreaked havoc with Stone’s Diamond Jubilee street party on the High Street yesterday. Well done to everyone who braved the rain – and the cold and wind – to head into town to try to make the most of the day! Thanks to Nicholas Carter Photography for some of these pictures (the good ones!). There’ll be more street party pictures on the site later – if you’d like to include yours, send them to jubilee@alittlebitofstone.com

The Punch and Judy shows were for all ages!

Volunteers from Stone's Chernobyl Children's Project held a tombola

The bands played on from the stage in Market Square

Wood-fired pizza went down a treat - especially a pear, pepperoni and blue cheese red-white-and-blue special

Stone's Ben Owen went down a storm

Stone's Lost Scenes performed a great acoustic set

Crepes provided chocolatey treats

Face painting from Stone Face Painting and Glitter Tattoo

Sort of sums the day up really!

But people were determined to make the best of it!

great day, great atmosphere and a lovely community spirit where all the entertainers and organisers worked hard pulled together despite the rain!
