West End performance for Elliot
A Stone student has made the grand final of a musical theatre search-for-a-star competition and will now perform live in the West End.
Elliot Clay, aged 18, will sing live at the Lyric Theatre in London’s Shaftesbury Avenue on Monday 9th July in a grand final hosted by singer and Radio 2 presenter Aled Jones. Elliot competed with 600 other contestants to land a place in the final 10 and a performance at the grand final in the Search For A Twitter Star competition.
The competition has been played out on Twitter for the last few months, with each entrant submitting a Youtube video which was then voted on via the social network. The final will also be voted on via Twitter. Elliot submitted a beautiful performance of Maria from West Side Story…
Elliot says it’s always been his dream to appear in the West End and he spent the weekend in rehearsals in London ahead of his dream coming true on 9th July.
He’s been involved in amateur theatre since he was nine and has been a member of Stoke Youth Musical Theatre Company since he was 10, playing roles such as Tony in West Side Story, Moritz in Spring Awakening and the role of Sweeney Todd twice.
All the best to Elliot for the big day! A Little Bit of Stone will be doing all we can on Twitter to get behind him and encourage others to do the same. If you’re on Twitter, make sure you support Elliot on 9th July!
