Arrest made over charity shop burglaries

An arrest was made today (23rd February) in connection with the spate of burglaries in the High Street, including three charity shops.

Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation and Age UK were all burgled on Thursday night / Friday morning, as well as Crick & Mardling solicitors. There’s more information about the burglaries HERE.

Stone PCSO Jenny Ludlow-Smith tweeted this afternoon that a male had been arrested and remanded in custody. She added that enquiries were ongoing. No more information is available at the moment.

Meanwhile, lots of people donated items today to the charity shops that were burgled. Liz Reynolds, manager of the Cancer Research UK shop, said that there had been lots of donations, including a big box of goodies from Stone accessories boutique Kismet Rose that included scarves and jewellery. Jackie Gregory from Penkhull made a special journey to Stone to donate bags of items after reading about the burglaries on A Little Bit of Stone.
