Late-night pharmacy for Stone

pharmacy

A late-night pharmacy will be opening in Stone later this year at the former Traditional Flower Co shop in the town centre.

Community Pharmacies, which runs a number of pharmacies across the country, will be opening its Stone pharmacy in June. Called ‘Stone Pharmacy’, its opening hours will be 7am to 10.30pm seven days a week.

There are posters in the empty unit on the corner of Lichfield Street and Christchurch Way advertising for staff for the new business (see below).

Kash Akhtar, project manager for Community Pharmacies, said: “There is no late-night pharmacy in Stone or the surrounding areas, so we want to offer a really accessible service for people who may struggle to get to a pharmacy in normal working hours.”

The Traditional Flower shop closed in February. Meanwhile, the former Manley House Chinese takeaway just up the road has undergone renovations over the last few weeks and is thought to be reopening soon as a solicitor’s offices.

  1. Yes there are other pharmacies in Stone, however with the late opening hours this is ideal for those of us that need the services later in day. I went the other week at about 7.30 in the evening and must say the staff were very helpful.

  2. I think this is a positive for the area. For those of us with busy lives who work and have young families will find this a useful and flexible service…well done!

  3. It will be great for Stone and the surrounding area and villages, create some jobs  and be useful for people who do not work the usual 9 to 5.

  4. Where will people park? I certainly wouldn’t fancy parking up Church Street on a dark night especially at weekends. I have always had good service from the other pharmacy do we really need another one Birchill and Watson are open til 6.30 Monday to Friday.

    1. obviously you are going to be biased Linda, as you work in the other pharmacy. I find the opening times very convenient and parking is an issue for all pharmacies in the town!
