The Stone Food and Drink Festival got under way today (3rd October) with the cutting of a special 10th anniversary cake.

Supplied by Stone’s High Street bakery Stone Baked, the cake was cut by Festival chairman Richard Stevens, town mayor Jill Piggott and Tina Clare from the bakery.
Westbridge Park was bustling, with hundreds of people enjoying the sunshine and the tasty treats on offer.
Thousands of people are expected to visit the town on Saturday and Sunday to sample the delights of the food and drink festival.
There will be a huge farmers’ market in the High Street on Saturday, and the main festival site at Westbridge Park will be open until 7pm on Friday, and from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Check out our guide to this year’s festival HERE – and make sure you check the full programme at www.stonefooddrink.org.uk
Included in the throng on Friday’s opening day were lots of children from Stone’s schools, who are always allowed in on Festival Friday to have a good look around and to soak up the atmosphere. As these photos show, children from St Michael’s First School had a whale of a time!
Have a fantastic time if you’re visiting Stone Food and Drink Festival this weekend!
