Festive carol finale needs singers and musicians

The organisers of Stone’s Advent Window project are looking for singers and musicians to make the Christmas Eve carol finale a huge success.

The first of 24 windows will be opened on Wednesday 1st December at 12pm at Tim Tofts Violins in Station Road. Over the next 22 days, lots of other shops and businesses in and around the High Street will be decorating their windows to the theme of a different Christmas carol.

On Christmas Eve, organisers plan to parade around the town singing each shop’s carol before heading for Christ Church for the final window opening.

Everyone is invited to take part in the carol parade, but organisers are looking for some core singers and musicians to make the sing-songs a success.

Organiser Pam Pott said: “We’d like it to be a rollicking good sing, but we could do with a core group of singers and musicians. Best of all would be instruments like accordion, penny whistle and drum to give it a real folky feel. The idea is for the core group to get together at our house at 7:30pm on Thursday 16th December to go over the carols, especially the less familiar ones.”
