The Conservatives held both Stone seats in the Staffordshire County Council elections, but a strong UKIP showing saw their share of the vote reduced.
Philip Jones retained the Stone Urban seat, with Ian Parry taking Stone Rural. There was a strong showing from UKIP in both seats, with UKIP candidates finishing second.
The UKIP results saw reduced majorities for both Conservative councillors – Ian Parry’s share of the vote dropped from 57% in 2009 to 37% in 2013; Philip Jones’s from 38% to 28%.

The Conservatives maintained their control of Staffordshire County Council in the election. They now have 34 councillors, Labour have 24, UKIP have two and there are two Independents. You can see other results from across the county HERE

Dear ALBOS, thanks for the results article on the Stone local elections. It makes interesting reading that the most votes any candidate got was 1,400.
Please can you put this into some perspective by publishing the percentage of eligible voters who voted and what percentage of the votes cast each candidate polled.
