Youth service campaigners appeal for support

Campaigners against county council proposals to cut youth services in Staffordshire will be in Stone town centre on Saturday urging local people to support their fight.

The county council is currently consulting on proposals which would see the traditional, open-to-all youth service changed to one that “targets young people most at need”. There are more details on the proposals HERE – campaigners believe this will mean the closure of youth centres across the county, including the one in Stone.

The Youth Against Service Cuts (YASC) campaign group has organised a number of events on Saturday 15th February, including a petition signing in Stone town centre and a big event in Stafford. You can follow YASC on Twitter HERE An online petition has also been set up HERE
