Seven acts will be battling it out in the final of Stone’s Got Talent on Saturday 12th July.
After three rounds of auditions in May and June, the final will take place in the President’s Hall at Walton Community Centre, Whitemill Lane. Doors open at 7.30pm, with the first finalist on stage at 8pm.
Tickets, costing £4, are available from Home & Colour on Stone High Street, or you can pay on the door on the night. Please note there will no catering at the event, so if you’re going along, take your own refreshments.
All proceeds from the event – which has been organised by Stone’s brilliant Young Musicians’ Collective, will go towards the provision of disabled facilities at the community centre.

She lists Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Jessie J, Ellie Goulding, Christina Aguilera and Christina Perry amongst her favourite singers.
3. Kyle Frid is 14 and a pupil at Stone’s Alleynes Academy. His hobbies include football, swimming, writing, drama and watching old episodes of Friends! He is inspired by many singers and artists, including Usher, Jason Derulo and Drake.
4. The Stricken are an upcoming heavy metal band who are in the process of working on their first EP, which they hope will be finished by the end of the summer. Their main influences are Metallica, Iron Maiden and System Of A Down.
5. Rachael McTiernan is originally from Yorkshire and began singing while at infants school, where she was inspired by her wonderful music teacher. Since moving to Stone 14 years ago she now has two daughters who have also inherited her passion for music and the house is always full of sound. Rachael and her daughters sing together regularly as part of the St Michael’s First School Parent and Children Choir.
6. Rachael Jenkinson is 14, has been playing the violin from the age of six and took up the guitar four years ago. She counts Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Guns ‘n’ Roses as her main influences. Rachael is in a band called ‘Next Generation’ who played in the young musicians section of the 2013 Stone Music Festival. She is performing on her own in the competition.
7. Rachel Meddings is a 16-year-old singer-songwriter from Stone. She has always been interested in music and is planning to pursue it as a career by studying music technology and performance at Newcastle College from September. Her influences come from a range of artists including Fall Out Boy, Jake Bugg and Oasis, though most of all she loves to create it herself.
The judges for the event will be scattered throughout the audience, each with a brief to decide the top three places.
